Our product provides patients with dental restorations that look and function like natural teeth. Typical dental restorations are made for 3 mol% yttria zirconia, which have the mechanical properties to match human teeth, yet possess an opaque and bright white color. However, 5 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia does possess the translucency of natural teeth, yet lack the hardness and strength of human teeth. What our product achieves is the combination of the mechanical properties of 3 mol% yttria zirconia, and the appearance of 5 mol% yttria zirconia by applying our solution on a standard 3Y dental restoration. We denote this solution as the “Magic Touch” painting solution.
Testing
Our team is composed of members knowledgeable on materials science and characterization. To ensure that our product will last the patients' lifetime and retain the translucency gradient, we perform tests for materials characterization. From this chracterization we obtain valuable data that we can compare to standard dental materials. Testing includes techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and nanoindentation. Thorough testing shows that our product not only looks better, but also retains the strength of state of the art dental materials.
